About US
The Maa Usha Charitable Trust was established in loving memory of Lt. Usha Roy, the beloved mother of Dr. Susanta Roy, who sadly passed away on 19 Aug 2017, Initially, the Roy family had the heartfelt desire to make a positive impact by supporting and assisting the underprivileged individuals in their local community in honour of their mother’s legacy. As time went on, the family recognized the need for a formal platform to expand their welfare and development activities. Consequently, they made the decision to include additional family members, who were eager to contribute their time and efforts, and together they established the Maa Usha Charitable Trust. This noble trust was officially registered on January 1, 2015, providing a legal framework to further their mission of making a difference in the lives of those in need. Following its legal registration, the Maa Usha Charitable Trust wasted no time in initiating its welfare and developmental activities, utilizing the resources at its disposal. As the trust gained valuable experience over time, it recognized the need to expand its services to provide immediate relief to those in need. However, it soon became apparent that relying solely on available resources may not sustain its efforts in the long run. Drawing from their experiences and understanding the requirements, the trust made the crucial decision to pursue registration in all necessary platforms. This strategic move aimed to mobilize the necessary resources and establish a streamlined execution process, ensuring the trust’s ability to effectively fulfil its mission. By adopting this proactive approach, the Maa Usha Charitable Trust aimed to create a lasting impact and maximize its potential to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. To ensure the smooth execution of its welfare activities and create a lasting impact, the Maa Usha Charitable Trust adopted well-defined Bye-laws and amendments. Drawing from its accumulated experience, the Trust shifted its focus towards meeting the specific needs of the impoverished and underprivileged individuals within its operational areas. This involved organizing and coordinating various welfare and development initiatives aimed at uplifting the lives of the marginalized. Guided its dedicated services in underprivileged regions, the Trust strategically formulated practical strategies to structure its welfare and development programs across five key sectors: Education, Health, Environment, Livelihood, and Community Development. By adopting this sectoral approach, the Trust successfully set targets for resource mobilization and effectively extended its support services to benefit the impoverished, needy, and marginalized people in its surrounding areas. Over the course of the past eight years, the Trust has not only enhanced its organizational capacity but has also prioritized the holistic development of distinct groups such as children, youth, women, and men. The aim is to empower these individuals to become educated citizens who can harness their skills and efforts to create a brighter future for while adopting improved lifestyles within society.”
